Define
A book or manual that sells a method by arguing it. Chapters as proof, not as decoration around a product.
Mechanism
Authority by treatise. The reader who accepts the argument has already accepted the seller as teacher.
Verdict
We can teach a craft in public and the teaching is the funnel.
Don't
The book is a bound brochure. If the argument is missing, it is a catalog wearing a spine.

Gulf note
Write the guide in clear fusha so it carries a teacher's authority, then cut it into numbered Instagram carousels and X threads in Saudi dialect, one chapter per post. Much technical material in the Gulf is published in English first, so a well-made Arabic edition can be the gap itself. Deliver the full PDF by WhatsApp so the reader becomes a lead. If the craft touches health or money, teach the method and leave out promised results.

Are You a Bromide? book jacket
Naming the format in the first line disarms the reader's defence: once you are in on the joke you stop discounting the claims and start enjoying them, which lets the copy run at a pitch no sincere blurb could survive.
Patons & Baldwins Habk al-Suf knitting book ad, Bint al-Nil 1951
A wool company sells its yarn by selling a practical guide to knitting and crochet: 74 pages, dozens of illustrated patterns, a low price printed in a badge.

PayTabs: explaining what payment switching does, slide 1 of 4
The mechanism is teaching before selling: the slide defines a term, payment switch, with a plain analogy, traffic controller, before any PayTabs product name appears in the body copy, so the brand earns the 1 of 4 attention as a teacher, not a vendor.
Bates agency book: Good Advertising and Where It Is Made
It sells an intangible by photographing it.
Direct Advertising magazine and mill-brand paper sample book, 1921
Same engine as the rest of the series - the advertisement is a physical sample, so the buyer's hand does the persuading and the copy only has to name what he is already feeling.
Direct Advertising Vol. V with mill-brand paper sample book
The medium is the sample - the product performs in front of the buyer instead of being described to him, which is why the page foot always identifies the stock by name and weight.
Mellin's Food The Care and Feeding of Infants booklet
The book argues before it sells: cow's milk forms tough curds a baby cannot digest, so it must be modified, and "Mellin's Food softens this curd of the milk"; once the reader accepts the reasoning, the product is the only conclusion left.
