Us-versus-them positioning

Embedded from YouTubeChannel: AFIA ArabiaCountry: Saudi Arabiahttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XRgLGuXQsc

The pattern

This film is filed under Us-versus-them positioning.

Define

The buyer is invited into a side. The product is what we use. The named other is what we refuse.

Mechanism

Identity contrast. Choosing the offer is choosing a group. The out-group does as much work as the claim.

Verdict

The category is crowded

Read the pattern

Why it works

The song turns a dry claim, that oil made nearby is fresher, into a small journey the viewer can follow: the imported oil boards the ship scared and sad, suffers the cold and the heat, and sits in the waiting hall. Afia then appears on the shelf as pure, fresh and lively, so the contrast does the arguing. leaves the viewer to finish the line, and the brand's own name is the answer waiting there.

The big idea

Imported oil is cast as a weary traveler that arrives worn out after a long voyage, while Afia leaves its own factory fresh and reaches the shopper first.

Lines from the ad

The fresher it is, the more it is. what?

It leaves its factory fresh and comes straight to us

And it boards the ship, poor thing, scared and sad

Steal this when

When a local producer competes with imports and a shorter road from factory to shelf is the real difference.

The emotion

Written to Amusement. It makes the Say move.

The joke, a pitiful oil bottle seasick on a long voyage, is built on the product's point, freshness from a nearby factory, and Afia arrives with the punchline without mocking a named rival.
