Mascot PSA duty

mascot-psa-duty

Define

A recurring character who personifies a duty. Not a one-shot cartoon. A resident conscience.

Mechanism

Personified obligation. The mascot can repeat the ask across years without the message feeling like a new campaign each time.

Verdict

The behavior must be taught for years (safety, conservation, hygiene) and a face helps people remember.

Don't

The ask is a single promotion. A mascot for a weekend sale is a costume, not this pattern.

[THE CHARACTER: NAME + ONE LOOK THAT NEVER CHANGES]
[THE MOMENT: WHERE THE DUTY IS DUE (AT THE TAP / AT THE WHEEL / AT THE BIN)]
[THE ASK, IN THE CHARACTER'S VOICE: ONE SHORT IMPERATIVE, SAME WORDS EVERY YEAR]
[WHY, IN ONE PLAIN FACT: [WHAT HAPPENS IF WE DO NOT]]
[THE EASY ACTION: [WHAT TO DO, WHERE, IN ONE STEP]]
[SIGN-OFF: THE CHARACTER + [ISSUING BODY OR BRAND]]
[NEXT SEASON: SAME CHARACTER, SAME ASK, NEW SITUATION: [ ]]

Gulf note

Fits long-running civic asks in the Gulf: saving water and power through the summer, road safety, food waste in Ramadan, keeping parks and beaches clean. Let the character speak simple Saudi or Gulf dialect on TikTok, Snapchat and in school programmes, and switch to plain fusha on official print. An animal, an object or a stylised figure usually lasts longer than a realistic human face and avoids questions about imagery of people. Keep the character on civic duties and never put a religious ruling in its mouth.
