The pattern
This still is filed under Borrowed medical authority.
Define
The claim wears a lab coat: a diagram, a percentage, a clinical tone that is not necessarily a clinician.
Mechanism
Authority costume. Science-looking form transfers trust. Use it only when the substance matches, or we are documenting a historical mechanism. We do not recommend the abuse.
Verdict
We have real evidence and the buyer needs it in a form they already trust: a chart, a protocol, a named standard.
Why it works
The whole page is a costume: masthead, volume number, column rules and deck headlines make paid advertising look like a subscribed newspaper, which buys attention and credibility that a circular could not. The argument is a mechanism sell. It first discredits the prospect's existing doctor by naming a specific cause of failure, nerve-force, then supplies an analogy the reader already accepts, electricity, so the unfamiliar theory borrows the certainty of the familiar one. Because the claimed cause is systemic rather than local, the same product can be sold to sufferers of heart, lung, stomach, liver, kidney and bowel complaints from one page, and because it is diagnosed by symptom description rather than examination, treatment by post becomes logically necessary rather than a compromise. The A KIND DEED box turns the reader into a distributor, extending reach at no cost.
Steal this when
Reach for this when your market has already tried the obvious solution and failed, and your real job is to explain why that failure was not their fault: name the hidden mechanism everyone else missed, anchor it to something the reader already believes, then make your delivery method the logical consequence of the mechanism.
