Texaco 'The star that shines all night' ad, Liberty, 1941
The pattern
This still is filed under Mark as compressed claim.
Define
The mark itself is the sentence: a monogram, a seal, a device that already means the claim.
Mechanism
Compression. Years of use, or a very sharp first use, load the device so it can appear without copy.
Verdict
The mark is already loaded, or we will spend to load it
Why it works
The ad sells the emotion before the service by putting the reader inside the problem, a lonely wet road at night, and making the brand mark the literal and only source of light in the frame. That is a demonstration rather than a claim: the logo does the job in the picture that the copy says it does in life. The opening copy is written in second person present tense so the reader is the driver, and the benefit list is deliberately human scale, a rest room and a clean windshield before any product, which makes a commodity gasoline stop feel like hospitality. The 48-states line converts a warm feeling into a distribution fact, which is what makes the promise credible enough to change a route decision.
The big idea
The Texaco star is the light that finds a driver on a dark, wet road, because Texaco dealers now serve all night in all 48 states.
The offer
All-night service at Texaco dealers through the touring season in all 48 states: Registered Rest Rooms, route help, windshield and headlight care, Fire-Chief or Sky Chief gasoline, Havoline or Texaco Motor Oil.
The proof
Night-long service claimed in all 48 states at convenient points along the national highways, with named gasolines and oils and the Registered Rest Room.

Use this when the product is an undifferentiated commodity and the only real difference is availability or service, so you dramatise the moment of need and let the logo become the rescue. It is also the right structure whenever the brand mark itself can be staged as the solution inside the image.
The emotion
Written to Relief. It makes the Say move.
It stages a relief most night drivers have felt, the Texaco star lighting a wet, empty road, and backs it with checkable facts: night-long service in all 48 states, rest rooms, windshield care.
