Why it works
The text line is deliberately plain letterpress and the picture is deliberately violent, so the sheet reads as a newspaper and behaves as a poster. Bradley builds the figure from torn flat shapes with no modelling, which forces the eye to complete the dancer, and that act of completion is what holds attention. The type is tilted into the image plane rather than sitting above it, so the masthead moves with the kick instead of capping it.
