A single figure, drawn, silhouetted, or posed, is the whole claim. You can read it across a street.
Mechanism
Compression into a body. The figure is not decoration. It is the sentence. Distance-legibility is the test.

Why it works
The design is built from flats, not modelling: figures, ground and letters are the same three inks, so the title sits in the same picture plane as the subject instead of floating on top of it. The lotus-strewn black field gives the eye somewhere quiet to fall while the red letterforms and the red caps carry the colour rhythm down the sheet. Faces are reduced to a couple of white lines, which reads fast at street distance and still fixes an expression.
Steal this when
Steal the flat three-ink discipline whenever a title has to work as an image - a cover, an event poster, a thumbnail. Lock the palette first and draw the figures in the same inks as the type so nothing looks pasted on.
