Danube: fresh-meat prices cut across four cuts
DanubeCo · X · https://x.com/DanubeCo/status/2100157418793508982 · Embedded from X
The pattern
This commercial ad is filed under Price-anchoring offer.
Define
A higher reference number is shown first so the real price reads as a concession, not as a starting bid.
Mechanism
People judge a price against the first number they see. The anchor must be a real comparison or it collapses.
Verdict
We have a credible reference the buyer will accept
Why it works
Each tile sets the new per-kilo price in large type with the old one struck through just under it, 44.95 to 36.99 on Brazilian minced beef, 39.95 to 24.99 on liver, so the four cuts make the same argument four times before the reader finishes the grid. The header limits the deal to Jeddah, Makkah, Taif and Madinah only, which reads as a local, checkable offer rather than a national banner. A Mondelli since 1935 badge on the mince adds a quality cue next to the lower price.
The big idea
Four cuts at the meat counter, each with its old per-kilo price struck through under the new one, for four western-region cities only.
The offer
Per kilo: Brazilian minced beef 36.99 SAR (was 44.95), beef liver 24.99 (39.95), shish tawook 29.99 (46.95), beef burger 39.99 (49.95). Jeddah, Makkah, Taif, Madinah only, until 22 September 2026.
The proof
A struck-through old price under every new price, and a Mondelli since 1935 badge on the minced beef.
