Carrefour: a two-day countdown asking which gift you wish for

The pattern
This commercial ad is filed under Curiosity gap.
Define
A missing piece is named but not filled, so the reader has to continue to close the loop.
Mechanism
Incomplete pattern. Attention is the itch. The next line is the scratch. The gap is a debt we must pay.
Verdict
The following sentence can pay off the gap with a fact, a name, or a mechanism
Why it works
The dialect question 'ايش الهدية اللي تتمنى تجيك؟' makes the reader picture a wish of their own, and the badge 'باقي يومين' ties that wish to a near date. Balloons and confetti signal a celebration, so the gap reads as a gift rather than a discount. It earns replies and a return visit, but gives nothing to act on before the reveal.
The big idea
A countdown teaser asks shoppers which gift they hope for, so an unnamed Carrefour event feels like a present arriving in two days.
The offer
Nothing is offered yet. The card counts down two days to an unnamed event and invites followers to say which gift they hope for.
Lines from the ad
ايش الهدية اللي تتمنى تجيك؟What gift do you wish would come your way?
باقي يومينTwo days left
Steal this when
When a store has a dated event coming and wants followers watching for the reveal before any detail is announced.
The emotion
Written to Curiosity. It makes the Avoid mistake.
The card opens a gap, a gift coming in two days, but names no event, offer or store, so no part of the answer is given before the reveal.
