Why it works
Two inks and one vertical word do the whole cover. Setting the author's name as a stacked column turns type into a structural element that frames the illustration instead of sitting on top of it, and alternating the two ink colours letter by letter creates apparent depth from a flat two-run press. Inside, the contrast is deliberate: the interior is set quietly and near-classically so the black plates read as events, and the blank leaves function as rests that give each plate the whole opening. The poem's own device is prosopopoeia plus anticlimax - address a cosmic body in the rudest possible street register, then have it answer in the same register - which makes an argument about labour land as a joke rather than a slogan.
Steal this when
Steal the cover when you have two ink colours, no photography budget, and a name that has to carry recognition on its own - set the name as a structural column, not a line, and let a single abstract mark do the emotional work. Steal the interior rhythm when a short piece needs to feel bigger than its page count: run quiet body setting, let a handful of hard graphic plates land alone on their own spreads, and leave real blank paper between them.
