The pattern

This still is filed under Specimen as proof.

Define

A specimen (type, material, finish) is shown so the product proves itself under comparison.

Mechanism

Controlled display. Same conditions, side by side, no adjective required. The sample is the sentence.

Verdict

Buyers choose by eye or by hand and we can put the real thing in front of them.

Why it works

The book sells nothing, so its entire job is retrieval, and it is built for that: every specimen is surrounded by the ordering data (cabinet, case, weight in stock) so choosing and ordering are the same act. The showings are set as plausible finished work rather than as alphabets, so the buyer sees the face doing the job he will actually ask for. Sizes are stacked largest to smallest down a single page, which is the only way to judge how a face survives being shrunk, the thing an alphabet cannot show. The gilt interlocking border on the binding signals that the plant's own parts list is itself a demonstration of the plant's craft.

Steal this when

Use this structure when you have an inventory of interchangeable options and the buyer's real question is which one fits my job, not what is it called. Show each option performing a realistic task, at every size or variant you actually stock, with the ordering code printed beside it so selection and order are one step.
