A Specimen of Printing Types
The pattern
This still is filed under Specimen as proof.
Define
A specimen (type, material, finish) is shown so the product proves itself under comparison.
Mechanism
Controlled display. Same conditions, side by side, no adjective required. The sample is the sentence.
Verdict
Buyers choose by eye or by hand and we can put the real thing in front of them.
Why it works
Setting one fixed Latin passage in every size strips out content as a variable, so the only difference the eye can read is the letter and the colour of the block - the buyer is forced into the comparison the foundry wants. Showing each size at full paragraph length rather than as a display word proves texture and fit in use, which is what a book printer is actually buying. The capital alphabet closing each showing is a completeness check that quietly answers the objection about missing sorts. The exotic sections do range work: a printer who can get Greek, Hebrew, Saxon and Arabic from the same house has a reason never to split an order.
Steal this when
Steal this when your product only differs in execution and the prospect cannot judge it from a description - hold the content identical across every variant and let them compare like with like at working scale, not in a hero shot. The alphabet-line move is worth lifting any time buyers quietly worry about coverage or edge cases.
