We publish on a fixed schedule and need instant recognition plus a new image every time.
Why it works
The system is built from three parts only - the logotype, small bold caps in justified rectangles, and thick rules - so pieces of wildly different size and function stay recognisably one family without a template. The type blocks are pushed into the corners and edges, which turns the blank paper into an active shape rather than leftover space, and echoes the neoplastic paintings the journal was arguing for. Rotating the receipt's labels ninety degrees treats a functional form as a composition without losing its use. Because every element is horizontal or vertical, the letterforms and the rules read as the same material, which is why the identity survives being printed by different jobbing printers at different sizes.
Steal this when
Use this when you need a working identity that has to hold across many small functional items - forms, invoices, cards, envelopes - and there is no budget for colour or bespoke templates. Fix a wordmark, one type treatment set in rectangular blocks, and one rule weight, then let the blocks move to the edges of whatever format you are on.
