It's Fine For Us (Rural Electrification Administration poster)
The pattern
This still is filed under Reason-why.
Define
A specific reason the offer is priced, timed, or structured this way. Not a mood. A reason.
Mechanism
Justification. A concrete cause makes a claim feel earned. Because we overbought. Because the season ends Sunday.
Verdict
The price or the ask looks irregular
Why it works
The headline is a quotation with no attribution, so it reads as something said across a fence rather than written by a federal agency. Us is doing the real work - it enrols the reader into a group that has already decided, and makes the poster a report of other people's behaviour rather than an instruction. Casting an elderly woman rather than a young operator kills the objection that new equipment belongs to the young or the mechanically confident. The arrows are the only high-chroma elements in the composition and they are used purely as pointers, moving the eye from the face onto the machine once the face has done its job.
Steal this when
Use this when the barrier is social rather than economic - the audience believes the product is not for people like them. Quote a member of that group in their own words and photograph someone the sceptic cannot dismiss as an early adopter.
