The pattern

This still is filed under Pack as storefront.

Define

The pack is the store. On a shelf or a thumbnail, it must stop, name, and close without a clerk.

Mechanism

Shelf rhetoric. Hierarchy, claim, and proof live on the face. The first five centimeters do the campaign's job.

Verdict

The buy happens in a glance among competitors: grocery, pharmacy, app store icon.

Read the pattern

Why it works

The hierarchy is the whole design: what it is, what it is for, how much to take, who made it, in that order and in four physically separated panels, so a frightened buyer can read only the panel they need. The display line is bent to fit the measure rather than the measure widened to fit the line - the compressed X is a compositor's fix, and it gives the word a distinctive silhouette for free. The dosing table moves the risk off the buyer and onto the label, which is what makes a nostrum feel like medicine. The arched top is not decoration; it is cut to sit on a round bottle shoulder.

Steal this when

Steal this structure when the package has to carry the whole sale with no room to argue and the buyer is anxious. Name the problem first, state the use, then give precise instructions - precision reads as competence when you have no proof to offer.
