Why it works
The vertical trunks are a compositional device before they are scenery: they slice the panel into stripes, trap the figure inside them and give the flat green field a rhythm the eye can travel. The book in her hand is closed, which places the moment after reading rather than during it, so what is being sold is the state the poems leave you in. The sheet is also a working retail poster, with the price and the words SOLD HERE set as large as the author credit, so an aesthetic image is doing merchandising work without changing register.
Steal this when
Use when the product's promise is an atmosphere the buyer wants to be in, and you can literally place a person inside it. Also steal the layout when one piece must serve as both an image ad and a shop-window sales notice, keeping the retail line in the same typographic family as the title.
