The pattern

This still is filed under Keepable trade card.

Define

A small card people keep (pretty, useful, or collectible) that carries the brand after the encounter.

Mechanism

Retention object. The gift is the media. Recall is paid for by usefulness or delight, not by repetition.

Verdict

We can put a physical or digital keepable in someone's pocket and they will not throw it away.

Why it works

The plate lays the production sequence out left to right, drawing then twisting then winding then weaving, and staffs each stage with a worker actually doing it, so the second line of lettering only has to name the goods; the picture has already made the argument. Keeping the caption outside the image and splitting it into two weights, capitals for identity and script for scope, separates who we are from what we make without needing a rule or an ornament. The receding arch on the right adds a second room, which reads as scale: the works do not stop at the edge of the plate.

Steal this when

Use this when we make it ourselves is the actual reason to buy. Stage the whole process in one frame with real people at each step, and let the caption carry only the name and the scope.
