Why it works
The appeal is addressed by name in the first word, so the poster sorts its own audience before it argues, and everyone else is free to stop reading. Hunger is not described, it is personified in two faces that look directly out, which converts a policy compliance problem into an encounter. The claim gy alleen assigns exclusive responsibility, which removes the excuse that someone else will cover the shortfall. The sombre crayon technique and the absence of any flat poster colour signal that this is not advertising, and the instruction is held back to the last two lines so the emotional case is made before the demand is stated.
