Riquetta chocolate - poster
The pattern
This still is filed under Iconic figure claim.
Define
A single figure, drawn, silhouetted, or posed, is the whole claim. You can read it across a street.
Mechanism
Compression into a body. The figure is not decoration. It is the sentence. Distance-legibility is the test.
Verdict
Poster scale, outdoor, packaging at a glance
Why it works
The entire sheet is one colour family - rust, orange, dark red on cream - so it registers as a single warm mass at distance and says chocolate before a word is decoded. The head is drawn with one clean silhouette line and no modelling, which is what keeps it legible at size, and all the visual incident is displaced into the shawl so the face can stay flat. The descriptor is reversed out of the existing dark area instead of being given its own panel, which means the image is never interrupted by a type block.
Steal this when
Use when the product itself is visually dull and interchangeable: build the whole frame from the product's own colour, let one arresting figure carry the brand name, and reverse the descriptive line out of an existing dark area rather than adding a text panel.
