Why it works
The falling figure carries the premise in one gesture: a man in ordinary office clothes, no costume and no weapon, pitched off balance with nothing around him to grab. The misaligned hand-drawn borders and the offset panels put instability into the layout itself without distorting the figure, so the sheet feels unsteady while staying readable. Billing is doing the selling: the claim about the director sits above the stars, which tells the audience the brand on this picture is Hitchcock. The small clinch vignette is inserted low and tiny to promise a romance without softening the main image.
Steal this when
When a respected maker's reputation is the strongest asset, put the claim about the maker above the cast and let one picture show the predicament instead of the plot. Use the tilted-frame device when the layout should feel unstable but the subject must stay clean.
