Beethoven series
The pattern
This still is filed under Event symbol poster.
Define
A symbol or allegory that makes an event feel like a destination. Not a timetable. A magnet.
Mechanism
Attraction by emblem. Date and venue ride under a picture that already means come.
Verdict
We are filling a room, a night, or a run of dates
Why it works
One recognisable face does the whole job of category identification, so the composer's name and the word series are the only selling copy needed. Letting the orange title cross the portrait fuses image and name into a single object instead of a picture with a caption above it. The slanted cascade of white lines is a legibility trick on a horizontal card - it forces the eye down a diagonal so dates, prices, address and phone number are read in one sweep rather than scanned as a block of small print.
Steal this when
Use it when the draw is a famous name or face and everything else is logistics. Put the portrait large, run the name across it so they cannot be separated, then step the practical details down a diagonal in descending size so the reader takes them in one pass.
