The pattern

This still is filed under Donor guilt appeal.

Define

The donor is asked to feel the cost of not giving, then given a precise act that relieves it.

Mechanism

Obligation then release. Close kin to problem-agitate-solve, aimed at a gift rather than a purchase. Handle with care.

Verdict

The need is real, the ask is specific, and the donor can act today.

Read the pattern

Why it works

The picture holds the consequence and the type holds the ask, so neither has to do both. Naming the reader first - LANDBOUWERS - turns a general poster into an address, and GY ALLEEN removes the diffusion of responsibility that lets one farmer assume other farmers will deliver. The figures are drawn without a setting, which keeps the famine abstract enough to be a threat rather than a scene the viewer can place somewhere else. The instruction is deliberately the least emotional line on the sheet: after the guilt, the required action is stated flatly and is easy to obey.

Steal this when

Use when the reader can quietly assume someone else will act - compliance drives, collective quotas, blood or food donation. Name the group, then close the escape route with the equivalent of 'you alone', before you state the action.
