Mechanism
Moral equate. The small act inherits the gravity of the large one. The ask is ordinary. The meaning is not.

We need mass compliance on an unglamorous behavior and can honestly tie it to a shared stake.
Why it works
It visually equates the act of farming with leading a military assault. By placing the tractor ahead of the tanks and planes, it validates the farmer's work as the literal vanguard of the war effort.
