Mrs. Reginald Vanderbilt gives her skin this exquisite care
The pattern
This still is filed under Celebrity endorsement.
Define
A named, recognizable person lends their reputation to the claim. The name is the proof.
Mechanism
Transferred authority. The reader believes the person first, the product second. Fame or office does the work a peer testimonial does not.
Verdict
The endorser is actually known to the buyer
Why it works
The endorsement is staged as third-person reportage rather than a quote block. A narrator describes first seeing her, bystanders argue about her skin, and only then does she speak, so the claim arrives as something overheard instead of something bought. The central exchange is a planted objection and its answer: the friend assumes hours of daily effort, she corrects it to a few moments and names the method, which removes the she-can-afford-it barrier and makes the routine the transferable part. The two numbered steps then convert aspiration into a repeatable behaviour that requires buying both products, not one.
Steal this when
Use this when your best user has an advantage the reader assumes is unreachable because of money or time. Write the endorsement as observed reporting, plant the reader's own objection in a bystander's mouth, answer it in the endorser's voice, then hand over the exact routine.
