The pattern

This still is filed under Scarcity close.

Define

A real limit (time, units, seats, eligibility) that makes delay cost something.

Mechanism

Loss of option. The close is the disappearing chance, not a louder adjective. Fake scarcity is a different and worse pattern.

Verdict

The limit is true

Read the pattern

Why it works

The page sets two real limits: the shares are for Egyptians alone, and subscription may close early once the 70,000 shares are taken. The buyer is not just investing but taking a seat in a national institution before the seats run out. The price, the split between capital and reserve, and a named signatory make the ask feel audited rather than promoted.

The big idea

A seat in the national bank for Egyptians only: 70,000 new Banque Misr shares, with a subscription book that may shut before its end date.

The offer

70,000 new Banque Misr shares at 6 Egyptian pounds each, paid in full on subscription, open 15 October to 31 December 1927 at the Cairo head office and branches in the provinces.

The proof

Based on a general assembly resolution of 7 May 1920 and the bank's law; each share's 6 pounds split into 4 for capital and 2 for reserve; signed by Mohamed Talaat Harb.

Lines from the ad

الاكتتاب العام في زيادة رأس المال

Public subscription to the capital increase

يشترك فيه المصريون وحدهم

Open to Egyptians alone

وقد يقفل باب الاكتتاب قبل نهاية موعده

The subscription may close before its end date

Steal this when

Use it for a capped raise or pre-sale aimed at one community, where the cap and the eligibility rule are genuine.

The emotion

Written to Belonging. It makes the Say move.

'Open to Egyptians alone' makes the share a seat in the national bank, and the terms are stated in full: 6 pounds a share, 4 to capital and 2 to reserve, signed by Talaat Harb.
