Fear with a next step. The threat is specific. The action is doable today. Fear without an action is cruelty.

The risk is real and the action is clear. Official or civic voices help.
Why it works
It is a transfer-of-fear analogy: an abstract disease borrows a fear the reader already holds fully formed, so nothing has to be explained. The typography performs the sentence - STRIKES is drawn as a lightning bolt, so the verb is felt before it is read. The pilot-fish line does the real persuasive work by reframing a symptom people deliberately ignore as the visible approach of the predator, which turns inaction into risk. The ask is then tiny, free and immediate, which stops the fear collapsing into fatalism.
Steal this when
Use this when the risk you name is one the audience shrugs off, and you need to borrow an existing vivid fear to make it feel imminent. It also fits any case where the behaviour you want is early action on a small signal rather than action on the big event.
