Public health warning

The enemy is syphilis

The pattern

This still is filed under Public health warning.

Define

A warning designed to change a health behavior (stop, screen, stay home), not to sell a brand.

Mechanism

Fear with a next step. The threat is specific. The action is doable today. Fear without an action is cruelty.

Verdict

The risk is real and the action is clear. Official or civic voices help.

Read the pattern

Why it works

It names a disease as an enemy, which converts a taboo medical subject into a war frame where acting is allegiance rather than confession. The scale contrast carries the argument without copy: the threat is drawn huge, black, faceless and hand-smeared, while the responders are small, identical and in formation, so collective action is the only readable answer. The blue headline states the whole proposition and the script line at the foot supplies the single instruction, so one idea and one ask occupy the whole sheet.

Steal this when

Use this when the subject is stigmatised and the audience avoids naming it - recast it as an external enemy so taking action reads as loyalty, not admission. Also right when the ask is organisational, getting a manager to mobilise other people, rather than a personal behaviour change.
