The pattern
This still is filed under Keepable trade card.
Define
A small card people keep (pretty, useful, or collectible) that carries the brand after the encounter.
Mechanism
Retention object. The gift is the media. Recall is paid for by usefulness or delight, not by repetition.
Verdict
We can put a physical or digital keepable in someone's pocket and they will not throw it away.
Why it works
The card sells the printer by making the customer's own keepsake the sample. Every technique the shop charges for is forced into one object - intaglio border, letterpress centre, typographic flowers, hand colouring - so the buyer sees the full capability list without a word of copy about it. Labelling the two workshop vignettes The Letter Press and The Rolling Press turns decoration into a caption for the trade, which is demonstration proof: the reader watches the thing being made. The nested frames concentrate attention inward like a target, so the personalised name sits at the optical centre of maximum ornament and reads as important by position alone.
Steal this when
Use this when your service is the craft itself - build the sample out of the customer's own content so the deliverable and the advertisement are the same object. The labelled process vignette is worth stealing any time showing how the work is made is more persuasive than describing it.
