This still is filed under Keepable trade card.

Define

A small card people keep (pretty, useful, or collectible) that carries the brand after the encounter.

Mechanism

Retention object. The gift is the media. Recall is paid for by usefulness or delight, not by repetition.

Verdict

We can put a physical or digital keepable in someone's pocket and they will not throw it away.

Why it works

The blank centre is the design. Leaving the field empty makes one plate serve every item in the shop, with the specific title written in by hand, which is the cheapest possible personalisation and the reason the object survives as a system rather than as a one-off. The two armillary spheres are placed low at both corners where the eye exits, so the trade is signalled by object rather than stated twice in words. Weight is loaded entirely on the border and the foot panel, which pushes the eye through the empty middle and out to the address, the only thing that must be remembered. Setting the proprietor's name in spaced capitals against a lowercase trade description separates identity from service in a single line.

Steal this when

Use this when one printed asset has to serve a whole catalogue: ornament the frame, name yourself at the foot, and leave the middle open for the variable. It is also the right structure for any label, certificate or card where the ornament has to signal the trade without adding a second line of copy.
