The pattern

This still is filed under Keepable trade card.

Define

A small card people keep (pretty, useful, or collectible) that carries the brand after the encounter.

Mechanism

Retention object. The gift is the media. Recall is paid for by usefulness or delight, not by repetition.

Verdict

We can put a physical or digital keepable in someone's pocket and they will not throw it away.

Why it works

This is the drawing stage, so you can see the composition being solved rather than the finished plate. The sign name is put in a banner at the very top and the trade description in script at the very bottom, which leaves the middle band free for the one thing a shopper navigates by, the emblem. That is a three-level hierarchy - who I am, what I look like, what I sell - built for a market where many buyers read pictures faster than words. Borrowing the Doge gives a small family firm a state-scale symbol for the cost of an engraving.

Steal this when

Use this when the business name means nothing on its own and the association does: a place, a patron, a landmark, a licence. Lead with the borrowed symbol, keep the actual trade description small and at the foot where it confirms rather than competes.
