Why 85% refused to sell insurance
The pattern
This still is filed under House ad as portfolio.
Define
The firm advertises itself by showing the work, not by describing the work.
Mechanism
Proof by exhibit. The portfolio is the claim. Captions stay short. The pieces carry the argument.
Verdict
We sell craft and the buyer can judge from examples.
Why it works
The headline is a statistic with a cause promised, which is a complete idea in six words and invites the reader to want the number explained. The piece then moves from a finding to a diagnosis to a precedent, and the precedent does the persuading: laundries, dairies and fruit growers are chosen because they are lowlier trades than insurance, so the argument becomes if they could, you certainly can. It never names the agency's service until the signature, which keeps the whole ad reading as an industry observation rather than a pitch.
Steal this when
Use this when you want a whole industry to buy a category-level idea before anyone buys your service. Open with one hard number about the industry's own problem, diagnose it, then cite a humbler industry that already solved it.
