Narcoti-cure (1895) - poster
The pattern
This still is filed under Guarantee stack.
Define
Several guarantees, each aimed at a different reason not to buy, stacked so residual risk is named and removed.
Mechanism
Risk subtraction. One clause answers what if it breaks. Another answers what if I don't like it. The stack is the argument.
Verdict
The offer is unfamiliar or expensive
Why it works
The allegory does the persuasion: personifying the habit as a separate monster removes blame from the reader, which is the only way a street poster can address an addiction without shaming the person it wants as a customer. The claim line carries a number range rather than a vague promise, and four to ten days is short enough to be imaginable and specific enough to feel like knowledge. The free Book of Particulars is a low-friction first step ahead of the five-dollar purchase, a two-stage offer built into a single sheet. Compositionally the solid green block underneath gives the sales copy a clean field so that a very busy illustration and a long stack of claims never overlap.
Steal this when
Use this structure for a product that treats a behaviour the buyer is ashamed of. Externalise the problem into a character the buyer can fight, state a specific time to result, and put a free information step in front of the paid purchase so the first yes is cheap.
