The pattern
This still is filed under Event symbol poster.
Define
A symbol or allegory that makes an event feel like a destination. Not a timetable. A magnet.
Mechanism
Attraction by emblem. Date and venue ride under a picture that already means come.
Verdict
We are filling a room, a night, or a run of dates
Why it works
The schedule is the sales copy. Every one of the six lines is a question or a promise about the reader's own life, so the programme list reads as six separate hooks rather than as administrative detail - What Do We Need To Be Happy, Has Democracy A Future. Alternating the row colour forces the eye to step down the list line by line instead of skimming it. The two silhouettes sitting on the ground rather than standing at a lectern signal the register of the evening - conversation, not a lecture - and interlocking them with the headline welds the picture and the words into one shape.
Steal this when
You are promoting a free multi-session series and the individual session titles are more interesting than the series name. Set the sessions as the body, colour-alternate them so they scan, and let the umbrella name be nothing more than a label.
