Why it works
The composition is built on a single contradiction held in one frame - sun on the left, rain on the right, an ironic title in between - so the reader gets the comic premise before reading a word of detail. Putting the title inside the raincloud makes the illustration and the headline the same object, which is why the sheet has no dead centre. The running figures give the poster motion and, more usefully, tell you the tone is farce rather than drama, so nobody has to write the word funny. All the transactional detail is quarantined in the purple block at the foot, where a parent can find the price and the box office hours in one glance without disturbing the picture.
Steal this when
Use this when the name of the thing is ironic or contrary and the image can supply the punchline - state the claim in the title, contradict it in the picture. It is also the right template whenever an event poster must carry full ticketing detail without letting logistics take over the sheet.
