Why it works
The whole poster is one diagonal running from the upper left banner down the outstretched arms to the hand in the pit, so the eye performs the rescue before it reads a word. Light and dark are assigned morally, snow and sky on the sober man's side, black rock and storm on the drinker's, which lets the design argue without a slogan. The lettering is drawn rather than set and grows in size down the block, so the organisation's name lands as a conclusion to the picture instead of a caption above it.
Steal this when
Use this when your offer is help to someone in trouble and the audience is ashamed to ask: show the hand already extended and the rescue already in progress, so the viewer sees themselves being reached for rather than lectured. The moral light-to-dark diagonal is the structure to copy whenever two states, before and after, must read instantly with no copy.
