Why it works
The empty outstretched hand is the whole argument, and it sits at the optical centre-right, exactly where the eye lands after reading the red headline. The imperative is overprinted on the figure rather than set below her, so the command appears to come from the woman instead of from a committee. Red is spent only on the two words that identify the cause and everything else is black on white, which keeps the appeal from looking decorative and leaves the one small line of banking detail at the foot as the last thing left to read.
