Why it works
The date is set larger than the speaker and larger than the subject, which is the correct hierarchy for a recurring series - the audience already knows what the forum is, so the only new information is when. The vertical rail is a genuinely efficient device: season, pedigree and the word FREE are all things a passer-by should absorb but should never read first, so they are rotated out of the reading path while staying on the sheet. Alternating condensed caps with brush script gives four distinct type voices without a single illustration, which is how a two-colour screen print stays cheap. The ruled box around the topic behaves as a frame in place of a picture, turning a sentence into an object the eye can land on.
