Why it works
The empty cream ground does the work of a spotlight - with no landscape competing, two figures and four words hold the whole sheet, and the unprinted paper keeps the press run cheap. The raised arm is a deliberate pointer built into the drawing: it opens the top left corner and pushes the eye diagonally into the type block, so the illustration hands over to the lettering instead of fighting it. Colour is coded by hierarchy, black for place, orange for region, yellow for year, blue for the dates, so four levels of information are separated without changing typeface. Selling the destination through visibly happy visitors rather than through the place itself is the identification move: the buyer is shown who they would become there.
Steal this when
Use this when the place or event has no single iconic view and the real draw is the crowd it attracts - drop the scenery, put two delighted people on bare ground. The raised-arm-into-the-headline trick is worth copying any time the figure and the type are fighting for the same corner.
