Why it works
Ninety per cent of the sheet is bare paper, so at a hundred metres the poster is one red dripping stain and nothing else - the cheapest possible way to own a wall. The inverted face inside the pour stages drunkenness without depicting a drink, letting the poster promise a loose evening while showing nothing chargeable. The row of tiny figures along the base works as a cast list, telling the reader in one glance what the night contains, while the only literal information on the sheet is the venue, the address and the hour.
Steal this when
Steal this when you are selling an experience rather than an object and the mood is the product: one large ambiguous image carrying the feeling, a strip of small scene vignettes as the implied programme, and the practical detail in a single plain line at the foot.
