Why it works
The tilted slab is the whole layout decision - it breaks the rectangle of a horizontal card, creates a focal object where a flat card would have none, and lets the title outrank the venue without being larger than the card allows. Quotation marks around the title convert an ordinary phrase into a name, which is why a generic instruction reads as a play. The illustration is a visual pun on that title, so the joke is delivered before the words comedy appear, and stating tax inc. on the price closes the small-print objection in two words.
Steal this when
Use this on a horizontal card or banner announcing a one-night or one-day event, where the title is a common phrase that needs framing to read as a name and the price has to be stated as a complete, no-surprises number.
