Why it works
The lettering and the illustration are cut from one vocabulary, so the poster has no type area and no picture area - the figures are simply where the letters thinned out. That fuses a long and administratively dull message into a single black mass with real texture at distance. Size, not weight or colour, carries the hierarchy: five or six degrees of scale do all the ranking in one alphabet on one plane. The cost is deliberate: the face is near-illegible at a glance, which converts the poster into an object that demands you stop and decode it, and the reward for decoding is the practical line - tram numbers, entrance street, months.

Steal this when the message is long and administrative but the brand promise is that the thing itself is strange and worth effort - a festival, a craft fair, an avant-garde show - and you can afford to trade instant legibility for a sheet nobody can mistake for another.
