Why it works
The poster makes the viewer do the interpretation: the arcs are only a rainbow once the verse is read, and the verse is only modern once the arcs are seen, which is the exhibition's whole claim performed rather than stated. Type is confined to two corners and set in one face at two weights, so a busy colour field never competes with the information. Quoting the verse in flat small caps, without italics or ornament, strips the scripture of period styling and lets the flat colour do the same job the words are doing.
Steal this when
Use this when you need an old or sacred text to feel current: set the quotation in the plainest contemporary face you have and let one abstract graphic device carry the imagery the words describe. It is also the right structure when your visual is strong but your practical details are many - push them into a single corner block.
