Victor bicycles, Overman Wheel Co (1895) - poster
The pattern
This still is filed under Demonstration ad.
Define
The product does the arguing. The viewer sees the thing work, not a slogan about the thing working.
Mechanism
Proof by performance. The claim is the action: a visible, testable result the reader can replay.

Why it works
The format itself is the media buy. A tall narrow panel fits a column, a doorway or a streetcar card where a normal poster cannot go, and Bradley designs to it by stacking one figure vertically instead of composing a scene. The bicycle is almost absent, reduced to a handlebar and a badge at the bottom, so the product appears only after the woman has done her work. The dense Morris border frames the panel as decoration worth hanging, which is how these sheets got into homes rather than into bins.
Steal this when
Use this when you have an awkward tall placement and a category where the buyer is purchasing an identity. Fill the space with the person, hold the product back to a single recognisable detail, and dress the edge so the piece survives as decoration.
