The pattern

This still is filed under Demonstration ad.

Define

The product does the arguing. The viewer sees the thing work, not a slogan about the thing working.

Mechanism

Proof by performance. The claim is the action: a visible, testable result the reader can replay.

Read the pattern

Why it works

The composition gives most of its area to empty water, which is what makes the poster read as calm rather than as a busy scenic view, and that emptiness is the product. Breaking the reflection into rectangular dashes turns the one piece of movement in the picture into a graphic device, so it reads as pattern at distance and as water up close. The lettering is coloured to match the water and set top and bottom, framing the scene rather than sitting on it. The benefit line is placed at the foot where it works as the closing argument, with VON underlined so the eye lands on the distance claim.

Steal this when

Use this when convenience, not the destination itself, is the reason people will actually come, and the convenience can be stated as a number. The frame-the-picture-with-lettering layout is worth copying whenever the scene needs to breathe and the copy is one benefit line plus a contact.
