This still is filed under Demonstration ad.
Define
The product does the arguing. The viewer sees the thing work, not a slogan about the thing working.
Mechanism
Proof by performance. The claim is the action: a visible, testable result the reader can replay.

Why it works
The whole selling argument sits in one line of type - safety oil - and the picture is chosen to make safety feel like luxury instead of fear. Paraffin lamps killed people; Chéret answers that by showing a woman in evening dress putting her bare hands on a lit lamp, which is a demonstration of confidence rather than of function. The three-word spec line and the sealed-can line then kill the two objections that actually lost lamp-oil sales: the smell and the flash risk, and watered-down product from the grocer. The figure is the same recurring Chérette that ran across the whole Saxoléine series for years, which is how the brand bought recognition without ever showing the product itself.
Steal this when
A commodity bought on fear - safety, purity, adulteration - where the buyer cannot inspect what they are getting. Put the reassurance in the category line, show a person calmly unafraid rather than the hazard, and hold the same figure across every execution so the series compounds.
