Poster for the Lembrée Gallery
The pattern
This still is filed under Demonstration ad.
Define
The product does the arguing. The viewer sees the thing work, not a slogan about the thing working.
Mechanism
Proof by performance. The claim is the action: a visible, testable result the reader can replay.

Why it works
The customer, not the merchandise, is the poster - showing her from behind means the passer-by occupies her position and looks at the print with her, which sells the pleasure of choosing rather than the stock. Every commercial fact is hidden in the furniture instead of being listed: the services run vertically down the wallpaper, the stock category is lettered on a portfolio spine, and the telephone number is a prop on the wall, so the sheet stays a picture while still carrying a directory's worth of information. The single saturated orange mass of the cape against flat olive and chartreuse is what carries it at street distance; the type only has to hold the bottom band.
Steal this when
Use this for a retail or showroom business where the experience of choosing is the product and listing the inventory would kill it. Put the customer in the frame from behind so the viewer takes her place, and hide your service list, categories and contact details inside objects in the scene rather than setting them as copy.
