Olympia, anciennes Montagnes Russes - poster
The pattern
This still is filed under Demonstration ad.
Define
The product does the arguing. The viewer sees the thing work, not a slogan about the thing working.
Mechanism
Proof by performance. The claim is the action: a visible, testable result the reader can replay.

Why it works
This is a rebrand poster with exactly one job: move the equity of the old name onto the new one without losing the traffic. Chéret solves it as a contrast hierarchy - the new name is the single black mass on a sheet of yellow, vermilion and cobalt, so it is read first and remembered; the old name sits immediately beneath it in a quieter blue, present but subordinate, doing the work of a redirect. The two gold cymbals and the leaping figure supply the promise of the programme, which the copy says nothing about, and the street name closes the loop for anyone who only ever knew the place by its location.
Steal this when
You are renaming or relocating a business people already know. Set the new name at maximum contrast against everything else on the page, put the old name directly under it at lower weight, and finish with the address so nobody has to work out that it is the same place.
