Why it works
The layout is a portrait miniature scaled up to poster size. Flat decorative side panels frame a photographic-quality face, and the contrast between the two treatments is what makes the face read as precious rather than merely printed. The olive ground kills every colour except the rust and gold that appear in both the border and her costume, so the ornament and the sitter lock together instead of competing. Leaving the sheet free of dates and venues turns it into reusable stock for a touring show, with the local details supplied by the house.
Steal this when
Use this when the personality is the product and the schedule changes constantly. Build a dateless portrait piece with the name at display size, and let venues, dates and prices live on a separate overprint or slip.
