Columbia bicycles insure cycling delight, standard of the world, Pope Manufacturing Co. Hartford, Conn - poster
The pattern
This still is filed under Demonstration ad.
Define
The product does the arguing. The viewer sees the thing work, not a slogan about the thing working.
Mechanism
Proof by performance. The claim is the action: a visible, testable result the reader can replay.

Why it works
The head-on composition is the whole trick: the rider is coming at the viewer, the collar flares to the frame edges, and the handlebars form a horizontal bar across the lower third, so the bicycle reads as an oncoming shape rather than a product photographed side-on. Because the machine is almost entirely concealed, the poster sells the feeling of riding and not the specification, while the visible badge and detailed head tube keep the brand identifiable. The sandwich layout, claim on top and positioning line at the foot, brackets the picture with the two things a buyer must retain, and Standard of the World does category-leader work in four words with nothing to substantiate.
Steal this when
Use this when the product is experienced rather than examined and a competitor's spec sheet would beat you. Show the user coming at the viewer with the product half-hidden, keep only the badge legible, and bracket the image with a benefit line above and a category-leader claim below.
