Bil-Bol, Poster for an Automobile Retailer
The pattern
This still is filed under Demonstration ad.
Define
The product does the arguing. The viewer sees the thing work, not a slogan about the thing working.
Mechanism
Proof by performance. The claim is the action: a visible, testable result the reader can replay.

Why it works
The car is the only object in full colour, so the eye has nowhere else to go on a sheet that is otherwise black, yellow and grey. Drawing the flame as a horizontal wake rather than drawing the car in sharp focus converts a static image into a speed reading, the blur is the message. The crayon lithography keeps the surface sketch-rough, which reads as captured motion rather than a portrait of a product. The name is set as one continuous bottom band with the legal word AKTIE shrunk between the two shouted syllables, so the brand scans as BIL BOL at distance and the company form only registers up close.
Steal this when
Use this when the single benefit is visceral, speed, heat, force, and the honest move is to dramatise the sensation rather than spec the product. Also the model for a wordmark that must read at two distances, big syllables for the street, legal matter shrunk between them.
